Drake Sports Park’s new playground is now open. The updated playground is in a new location, giving safer access to the park restrooms and parking lot. The ADA compliant playground features a large swing bay as well as a climbing tower, which is the first of its kind in our park system.

This fall, the parking lots at Bloomer Park and the Arrowhead Trailhead for the West Bloomfield Trail were repaved. This maintenance ensures safe and convenient visits for all parkgoers. Improvements to accessibility were also made at both locations. The basketball court at Bloomer Park was also redone.

Enjoy a walk along the Civic Center Trails while also enjoying a new book, beginning behind the West Bloomfield Public Library.

In partnership with Edgewood Residential Housing developers and the West Bloomfield Township Development Services, WB Parks was able to secure a 12-space asphalt parking lot and a concrete safety path that connects the parking lot to the West Bloomfield Trail. The parking lot is located off Walnut Lake Rd, giving access to the Trail where it transitions from the Airline Trail to the West Bloomfield Trail. The addition of this parking lot allows us to now offer parking at the west end, center and east end of the Trail.

2025 Dog Park Permits go on sale January 6. ​The Dog Park offers nearly 4 acres of fenced-in area and is divided into 3 sections – one for all dogs, one for small dogs up to 25 lbs and one for people with physical limitations (ADA Accessible).
